When you create an account, we collect your email address and password (stored as a secure hash). When you request checklist updates or Pro access, we collect the email address and planning details you submit, such as parks visited and the next park you are considering. When you request personal travel planning, we collect the name, email address, destinations, approximate dates, traveler count, budget range, service requested, and notes you choose to provide. We also retain the page and campaign attribution associated with the request. When you use TravelCharted, we store the destinations, states, territories, and national parks you mark as visited, along with saved Trip Ideas. If you purchase a paid product, payment details are processed by Stripe; we may receive billing and subscription metadata, but we do not store full card numbers. We do not collect precise location data from your device.
Your data is used to power your TravelCharted experience — displaying your map, syncing across devices, calculating your travel stats, sending requested checklist or product updates, processing paid subscriptions, responding to travel planning requests, and understanding which pages, advisor prompts, planning requests, and Pro offers are useful. If you choose to proceed with travel planning, relevant trip details may be entered into Fora Travel systems or shared with selected travel suppliers as needed to prepare quotes and bookings. We do not sell your data to third parties or use it for cross-site advertising.
Account and checklist data is stored on Supabase, which uses industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. Access to account data is protected by row-level security — only you can read or write your own account records. Checklist update requests and travel planning inquiries are not publicly readable from the app.
We use session cookies for authentication and analytics to measure page views, signups, advisor-planning actions, checklist requests, travel planning conversions, and upgrade interest. Names, email addresses, and free-form trip notes are not sent to analytics. We do not run third-party ad trackers that track you across the web.
We use Supabase for account and inquiry storage, Stripe for Pro subscription payments, and Fora Travel and applicable travel suppliers when a traveler chooses to proceed with planning or booking. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices.
You may request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, or full deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing hello@travelcharted.com. We will respond within 48 hours.
TravelCharted is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised date. Continued use of TravelCharted after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
